California Dreaming...

Everyone has a place they call home deep down in their soul. Well I'm originally from Sacramento, California, though San Francisco is my soul's home. I lived there for 4 1/2 years and previous to living there, I visited on a very regular basis 'cause I loved it that much. Eventually I moved out of state and now reside in NYC, and have for some years now. Though it's never become my soul's home, I do love many things about living in NYC. I've learned alot and grew in different ways I wouldn't have had I not lived here. Though for a few years now my heart has been calling me back to my soul's home, and I will soon end up under my California dreaming skies once again. Here are my lyrics California Dreaming about making it back one day. Making it back one day to the warm sun, the beautiful blue skies and to the mellifluous dreamers that are my wunderkin. The mellifluous dreamers that permeate this state that are my kind of life loving dreamers.

Colorful cars zooming down highways beeline dancing trees
Wistful leaves laugh at us hitchers hiking to neverland
To find a home inbetween open hearts and dreaming heads

We're hitchers hiking thumbing rides to neverland
We've stuffed our wishes into vagabond bags
To head across wondering states in one wandering piece
As we hitch and we hike out to unknown skies

California dreaming California dreaming California dreaming
California dreaming and fireflies are out tonight
Lighting up wishes in the evening sky
Falling stars fall from wishing minds
Falling falling falling from dreaming heads
We're pulling down stars with glowing hands
We're dreamers needing light to wrap around our souls
To keep us warm when the sun hides his face
To keep us safe when the moon showers fate

California dreaming California dreaming California dreaming
Everone's California dreaming from Austin
Inbetween and over to dreamers lost in Boston
Everyone's hitching to California dreaming lands

Happily we're hitching our way to neverland
Where childhood dressers stand still forever
Skip skip skip we're merrily skipping down memory lane

One two buckle our shoes three four shut the door
Five six pick up sticks seven eight shut the gate
Nine ten we're looking for dreams under our skin
As we hitch and we hike under random blue skies

California dreaming California dreaming California dreaming
California dreaming and fireflies are out tonight
Lighting up wishes in the evening sky
Falling stars fall from wishing minds
Falling falling falling from dreaming heads
We're pulling down stars with glowing hands
We're dreamers needing light to wrap around our souls
To keep us warm when the sun hides his face
To keep us safe when the moon showers fate

California dreaming California dreaming California dreaming
Everone's California dreaming from Austin
Inbetween and over to dreamers lost in Boston
Everyone's hitching to California dreaming lands

With trigger fingers we're shooting blame outta the way
Faster than ten speedy hands push circles through squares
We're hitchers hiking thumbing rides to neverland

Connecting dots to dreams California's closer than it seems
Just one big hop and bold run to avoid the burn of the sun
Just one huge leap and swift run to avoid the swoon of the moon
As we hitch and we hike out to California dreaming skies

California dreaming California dreaming California dreaming
California dreaming and fireflies are out tonight
Lighting up wishes in the evening sky
Falling stars fall from wishing minds
Falling falling falling from dreaming heads
We're pulling down stars with glowing hands
We're dreamers needing light to wrap around our souls
To keep us warm when the sun hides his face
To keep us safe when the moon showers fate

California dreaming California dreaming California dreaming
Everone's California dreaming from Austin
Inbetween and over to dreamers lost in Boston
Everyone's hitching to California dreaming lands

Where is My Love?

Posted at 06:24 PM on April 10, 2010 Comments comments (0)

Sometimes even long after our love leaves us we wonder where they are? What they're doing? How they are? Have they fallen in love again. Do they even want to? Do they ever want to see us? Sometimes these questions remain unanswered and we try to fill in the blanks with guesses, but guesses are never the same as a tangible answer. So we ponder over and over what would happen should we meet up again. Here are my lyrics Where is My Love? that I wrote for my love in my own wondering hours.

Love fades under the rising sun
Emptiness surrounds me under the morning sky

Where is my love
Where did he go
My heart wants to know

Where is my love
Can he hear me calling
At the break of dawn
Or is he too far gone
Traveled too far south
Along with summer birds

Oh love
You should have prayed with me
You should have stayed with me
I could have knitted us a home
Out of love and understanding
Its warmth would outlast the sun
That sets at the end of the day
Not like my true love for you
That remains under the rising moon

Love falters under the pale moonlight
Silence surrounds me under the evening sky

Where is my love
Where did he go
My heart wants to know

Where is my love
Will he return
Before winter sets in
Or will all there'll be to show
Is lonely hands shoveling snow
Deep in the heart of sorrow

Love fades under the rising sun
Emptiness surrounds me under the morning sky

Where is my love
Where did he go
My heart wants to know

Where is my love
Time bring him back to me
Today not tomorrow
Save me tears and sorrow
'Cause for his temporal love
I'd beg steal and borrow

Oh love
You should come back to me
I'll make breakfast in bed
Peel grapes at midnight
I'll handfeed your desires
Everything you could need
You won't want for anything
Beyond the grasp of your fingers
Underneath memories that linger

Love falters under the pale moonlight
Silence surrounds me under the evening sky

Where is my love
Where did he go
My heart wants to know

Where is my love
Will he return
Before the first summer's eve
Stretches across blue skies
When purple flowers bloom
Inside my sassafras heart

Goodbye San Francisco...

My San Francisco time was a very pivotal time of my life. I further pursued music and took up yoga. Yoga dominated for a good while of my life. I later moved to New York City in the remoter borough Staten Island aka The Lost Borough or the Isle of Staten. I have slowly yet surely returned to music and this time I am chock full of lyrics and am learning and putting my guitar music to my lyrics. I am enjoying the learning process and will continue to. One day I may move back to San Francisco, and at minimum take trips there 'cause as a city goes San Francisco owns my heart and New York City lives inside that love.

Sowhat I'm learning along the way is that the rhythm of the music must follow the cadence of the lyrics. At least that's how it's working forme anyhoos. I'm partway done as of now and as I move along it's comingtogether tighter and tighter. Goodbye San Francisco is slated for myfuture pending cd entitled ~ driftwood ~, and it will be the first songon said cd. I have all 13 lyrics written for it and waiting oh sopatiently for me to put the music to them. I'm looking forward to doingso and am loving the learning process which will be a lifelong one.Below is lyrics of said pending song, Goodbye San Franciso.

I traveled across many bridges of change
Cutting through hills skirting your city
Pranced around inside barefoot dreams
That washed me upon your sunlit shores

Love the bus rolled on and on until all was gone
Life staring out windows at painted views
Scenery changing on a television screen

Yeah those were the days of my amorous youth
When simply living and loving were my truths

Now all I have left to say is
Goodbye San Francisco
My time there has passed me by
Love the moon was high and so was I
But now it's time for me to say goodbye
Find my soul a brand new home
I don't know where
I don't know when
I don't know why
All I know is it's time for me to say
Goodbye San Francisco

'Cause your motley home of hippies and love beads
Have become indifferent to my dreams
And time isn't moving as it seems
Inside life's swinging pendulum of needs

Love when I lay my head upon a patch of green
I can smell patchouli waftin' through the air
On neverending days when I have no cares

How I miss the days of my stonefree youth
When simply living and loving were my truths

Now all I have left to say is
Goodbye San Francisco
My time there has passed me by
Love the moon was high and so was I
But now it's time for me to say goodbye
Find my soul a brand new home
I don't know where
I don't know when
I don't know why
All I know is it's time for me to say
Goodbye San Francisco

And after years of searching New York City streets
My feet are finally planted on true ground
Walking new directions pulling dreams from clouds
Inside this existential life under changing skies

Love I wish I knew which way I was headed
But if I did I'd have an answer for every question
In a world where there's more than a million choices

Long gone are the days of my eternal youth
When simply living and loving were my truths

Now all I have left to say is
Goodbye San Francisco
My time there has passed me by
Love the moon was high and so was I
But now it's time for me to say goodbye
Find my soul a brand new home
I don't know where
I don't know when
I don't know why
All I know is it's time for me to say
Goodbye San Francisco

Oh Spring, Do Come Into Us...

Oh Spring, do come into us
You wait so patiently behind Winter's white curtain of cold
Come wrap your warm tendrils of love and beauty around us
Replace this bare, stark world that enwraps us presently

Oh Sky
Who shelters us all year round with your lucid wisdom
Open up your dry eyes and cry tears of rain upon us
Make fertile seeds beneath Gaia's impregnated skin

Oh Sun
Who hath been in hiding from us for so long
Come out and shine upon us with your infinite light
Gaze upon us with your endless source of love

Oh Grass
Who through thick and thin dutifully stands tall
Become green and soft again, a place to lay our heads
Let blades of grass tickle the 'tween of toes as feet roam

Oh Flowers
Who patiently wait to come alive with kisses of colors
Bloom, bloom, bloom, come alive with life for us
Let our eyes behold your beauty that you offer unselfishly

Oh Bushes
Who mostly stand bare and seemingly stoic
Bring forth green foliage and delicate little flowers
That you duly offer, ones that bloom so lovely

Oh Trees
Who stand naked and strong all Winter long
Come, come, come alive with plentiful green leaves
For it is our respite during those hot Summer days

Oh Birds
Who doth flee to escape Winter's harshness
Return outside our windows, perch upon a branch
Sing to us Spring's melody of beauty and joy

Oh Spring, do come into us
Free us from this dark, cold cave of Winter
Deliver us out onto your wide open spaces
Let us play inside of your warmth and beauty
